Fund Cyrus's Top Surgery and Medical Bills

Hi! My name is Cyrus and I'm a trans man in my mid-20s. I come to you today to ask for help covering costs for my top surgery!

Looking back, I'm the classic case of a trans child: gender nonconforming and always a little out of place. I only realized I had the option to actually be a man in late high school, and came out at age 18. Despite it's poor reception in my family, I continued my medical transition only a year later because I knew I couldn't feel like myself otherwise. As a result, I've lost the support of any biological family and now support myself and my partner on one income. I'm lucky enough to have people who love and support me regardless, but a chosen family of peers means we're all struggling to get by and not many are able to sacrifice more than time to help me!

I'm hoping that by reaching a larger audience, I can raise the funds to cover the surgery that I've been wishing for for almost a decade now. Every little bit will help an already struggling man get to a place he can feel a little more happy and at home :)

What my Goal Covers

I already have a little over $1000 in medical bills related to the necessary treatments (Therapy, consults, and getting a letter of approval written) that I'm having to pay off. Getting those off my plate would be a big help!

At the time of surgery, my deductible will be close to being met, so surgery won't be the $7000 it would be otherwise! I'm expecting something in the $500-$750 range. Much more affordable, but still a hefty hit when you barely break even each month!

My work does offer paid leave, but not at full-time wages. Being unable to work for up to two months with only a fraction of pay coming in means there's a lot being lost. Whatever isn't going towards medical bills is going towards rent, food, and other necessary supplies!

My surgery is already scheduled for August 8th, so I have a little over a month to reach this goal. I know it's a steep ask, and I'm not really sure if it will be met, but I appreciate any help that anyone is able to provide. Thank you so much for your time, and I hope you have a wonderful day :)

UPDATE: The entirety of my surgery is actually going to be covered! I've also readjusted my personal finances to cover previous medical expenses. I've changed my goal to reflect this, and really only need money to cover supplies and other random expenses for while I'm out of work. Thank you for the help so far!
