Hello, family and friends! Corrie here. :)
I have been accepted to the Holocaust Studies travel course to Poland and Germany for May 2025. I am grateful and excited to have been accepted, and I have been passionate about learning more about the Holocaust topic since a young age.
A personal reason for my strong feelings towards this subject is because I was named after Corrie Ten Boom, a Dutch Christian during WWII who hid and smuggled Jews from the Nazis. Another reason why I feel deeply about this trip is I often seek academic opportunities on this topic. I’ve written papers in my high school and college career covering subjects such as Holocaust heroes and Holocaust Denial, but I’m always left hungry to dig deeper. I will meet with a group of students leading up to the trip to discuss assigned readings and during the travels, I will be journaling my experiences throughout.
The dates for this trip are May 5-19 and I will need financial support from generous people who have the means and are willing to donate funds for this trip. I've raised 50% of the goal and only need to finish raising $3,500!
The funds raised will cover airfare, domestic travel, lodging, and food expenses. I would also love prayer that God would provide what I need for safe travels, personal growth and finances.
Thank you for your consideration and time! I’m excited about this trip and ready to learn more about the impact of the Holocaust.
Much love,
Corrie Alford
