Hi, my name is Tori and I am raising money to help my dog Charlee get the surgery she needs. Charlee is a seven year old husky/lab who loves her walks, playing fetch, and saying hello to all of the humans. Recently, we learned that Charlee needs a crucial and costly surgery or she will lose her ability to walk.
Initially, I noticed Charlee being really sore and stiff after walking. That very soon turned into her struggling to get her hind end off the floor when trying to stand. She started limping and hobbling while walking and favouring her back legs, mostly the left. Charlee suddenly has a certain way of sitting and lying down. She started compensating her posture so much that her left hip is protruding. Her left leg is constantly shaking. Charlee groans at every movement now, which breaks my heart; she’s in an immense amount of pain.
It turns out that Charlee has ruptured the cranial cruciate ligaments in both of her back knees. In order to repair this, Charlee needs to undergo a Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy (TPLO) surgery. The left leg is definitely worse, but if done alone, the recovery would put too much stress on her right knee. It was recommended that we get the procedure done bilaterally to avoid further injury. Without this procedure, the condition will become degenerative and result in chronic pain and loss of movement.
This surgical procedure is unfortunately very expensive. Times are tough right now and I simply don’t have the means to afford the cost of this procedure. I’m completely devastated because Charlee really needs this. If you are able, please donate for Charlee. Any amount helps.
We greatly appreciate any support that can be offered to us.
Love,
Tori and Charlee
