Hi everyone!
My name is Celeste Bizzarro-Parkin, and I’m so excited to share that I’ve been accepted into the National Student Leadership Conference (NSLC) Summer Program for Health Sciences at University of California, Berkeley. This is an incredible opportunity where I’ll be able to explore my passion for the medical field through hands-on experiences, real-world simulations, and learning directly from professionals. I originally heard about this program through my college counselor, and I immediately was interested.
Since starting highschool, I have developed a deep passion for the medical field. I have tried actively pursuing this interest through taking courses offered at my school and shadowing at hospitals, but I have not yet had the experience with hands on learning in a college environment.
This program at Berkeley is everything I have wanted in a program. The NSLC Health Sciences program is highly selective and gives students the chance to dive into areas like clinical skills, public health, and medical decision-making. I’ll be participating in activities that simulate real medical scenarios, which will help me build the knowledge and confidence I need to pursue a future career in healthcare. Opportunities like this are rare and can make a huge difference in shaping my future, especially since I will be graduating next year.
I’ve always been deeply interested in the medical field and helping others, and this program is an important step toward turning that passion into a career. However, the cost of attending is significant, and I’m asking for support to help make this opportunity possible.
Any contribution, big or small, would mean so much to me and help me take a meaningful step toward my goals. Thank you for taking the time to read this and for supporting my journey!
-Celeste
