Would you like to help raise awareness for autism in the Middle East?
My friend Kholod is smart, creative, she has a passion for her people-- the Palestinians. I first met her as my Arabic language teacher and we soon became friends. She shared with me her passion for writing novels and her secret dream to publish books. Her latest novel is inspired by the life of the mother of an autistic child who sacrifices everything in order to help her son.
Among Palestinians, autism is a condition that is rarely discussed and there are very few resources for those affected. Kholod wants to remedy this, so she wrote this novel to raise awareness in the Arabic-speaking world.
Kholod called me about a month ago very excited that she had found a publisher in Jerusalem who wants to publish her novel. She is a step closer to accomplishing her dream of publishing her book.
However she is lacking finances. So we are raising money to cover the publishing fees of 6,000 shekels and editing fees of 1,000 shekels.
Please donate by December 10th, 2020 so that her book can be exhibited at a large book fair on January, 6th, 2021.
I am very grateful for all of you who will help make Kholod's dream come true and motivate her to pursue her passion for writing in an environment that is less than encouraging for creative women.
