Hello, my name is Vlad Mitchell, I'm a Latino trans man who lives in an apartment with two other roommates. I adopted Bucko about 4 years ago, after he had been through at least two other families. He's brought so much joy into my life, it hurts me to even think about him being in pain. When I first got him, I was never told he had seizures, let alone a seizure disorder- even though its cost me hundreds of dollars to treat him, the thought of giving up has never crossed my mind.

I've always wanted the best for Bucko, and I've always put every dollar I could in taking care of him- but despite having pet insurance, the bills are still stacking up. Last night while I was away from my home, one of my roommates called telling me that Bucko had escaped the apartment, and was found in the alley beside our window, bleeding and barely able to stand up. We rushed him to emergency care. After waiting hours, we were told he had a fracture in his femur, and possibly other fractures in his facial bones. I had to apply for a new credit card to be able to pay his bills, and he still needs surgery in the near future, or he might never be able to walk properly again.

I've maxed out all my credit cards, taken money out of my savings- but I still won't have enough. It's hard for me to ask for help, but I've been left with no other choice- please consider donating, and if you are not financially stable enough to do so, please share. I will be working as much as I can to save up money, but the sooner Bucko can have this surgery, the better his odds are at walking normally and living a full life.
