My name is Ben Jennings, I'm an editor, videographer, and student filmmaker out of Kent State University. For my senior project I am writing and directing a short action dramedy titled Knock.

My producer and casting director is Marley Lammers, a film student at the University of Illinois and an Ohio based actor. Marley has produced and acted in multiple local Cleveland projects, she is also an award winning regular at the Cleveland 48 hr. film project.

Synopsis

Knock is centered around Jack, who’s heartbroken after the love of his life, Leah, breaks up with him for making repeated selfish decisions. During a depressive spiral, Jack is attacked by Chainsaw, a sociopathic enforcer for a local loan shark who mistakes him for a delinquent borrower. After miraculously surviving the encounter, Jack is determined to turn over a new leaf and win back Leah.

While Knock is an action comedy that seeks to make audiences laugh on the edge of their seat, it also balances a soft heart. The story is one of connection, meaning, and the sacrifices that are made to hold on to things that we love.

This project is multifaceted with many moving parts that provide unique and sometimes very difficult challenges. One of the biggest hurdles we're overcoming is funding. Everything from locations, crew, catering, stunts, and props will need to be secured before filming, and we could use your support.
