Fund Austin Students' NASA HERC Rover Project
Donation protected
Hi! We are an enthusiastic group of students from various high schools in the Austin area working to construct and design a cutting edge rover! We are the first and only public Texas high school to qualify for this competiton: NASA's Human Exploration Rover Challenge (HERC).
HERC requires participants to construct a rover that can navigate through many obstacles (a simulated extraterrestrial terrain) from scratch.
We do not receive funding from our school therefore, we're raising funds so that our team can compete in NASA's prestigious annual HERC competition in April next year!
We hope to inspire the next generation of explorers, and every dollar raised will go toward materials and equipment. We aim not only to win, but also to grow through hands-on experience in STEM fields that will shape our futures.
We require a large amount of funding because of material and equipment expenses. Currently, our members are paying out-of-pocket for these items. Usually, a team is sponsored by their high school/university, but since ours is experiencing budget cuts this year, we would truly appreciate your support!
Any support is welcomed, and remember, every dollar counts—just like every bolt on this thing (trust us, we counted). Thank you for helping us reach for the stars and represent Austin at an international level!
