Fund Aspiring Teacher's Education-Based Study Abroad
Donation protected
Tori Kreatz—My major is psychology with a minor in education, I am studying at Landmark College. I have worked as a high school paraprofessional/student aid for three years, an elementary aftercare provider for an additional three years, and hope to work in the field of education when I graduate.
This May, there is a study abroad course that focuses on how neurodiversity is handled in Netherland education systems. The trip is pricy though and even after tuition, you are expected to have another almost $600 dollars for meals. I have applied and received a needs-based scholarship from my school to cover half the trip which I am so grateful for. If I did not receive it, I was not going to bother trying to go.
I am applying for scholarships outside the college, working at the aftercare, and hesitantly looking into loans to add to my loans. I am not working as much as I did in past years so I can focus on improving my grades, however.
I was also encouraged by others to make a GoFundMe. I know some of my friends are going, the course aligns so closely with my interests and saying that I am a little stressed about the finances of this trip is an understatement.
Don't feel like you have to donate, especially if you can't afford it.
If anything comes my way, I will be grateful.
Thanks for reading.
