Fund Army Veteran’s Vital Treatment Journey

Hi my name is Katlin Hilton and I am creating this on behalf of my husband, Eric. He is an army veteran who has been struggling with a rare and unique condition called Visual Snow. 20 years ago, while serving in Iraq, he had a road side bomb detonate in front of his face, leaving him with brain trauma and this visual impairment. He has been trying for years to find a doctor that could help with no success. This past winter he came across the Visual Snow Initiative and he asked the VA to cover the treatment and they denied him. The VSI offered to help him with the treatment if Eric could get himself from his home in Maine to Texas where the treatments will take place. Eric had a housing situation all set up but it fell through at the last minute. Our growing family does not have the ability to pay for an Airbnb or hotel for the 6 week period he will be away. This treatment is vital to Eric’s brain/eye health and would give him tremendous relief. This is the only opportunity he has to go receive this treatment as we have a 6 month old daughter and another baby on the way. Any donations received would go directly towards his housing costs and any travel related expenses. He will be driving from Maine to Dallas/Plano Texas as he will need his vehicle to get to and from his treatments. Eric has done so much for this country, and his local community. He is always the first person to offer someone else help. He is one of the kindest and most caring individuals I’ve ever met. He does not know I’ve created this go fund me because he doesn’t ever ask for help. So I am asking on his behalf. Any donation is greatly appreciated and our family can’t thank you enough!!
