My name is Amy and I am 30 years old. I was diagnosed with Chiari Malformation in 2017. Chiari Malformation is when part of the brain has slipped out of the skull and into the spinal column. Since then, I have lived with debilitating migraines and severe pain in my neck and shoulders due to the compression on my spinal cord. I have tried every preventative and abortive migraine medication available with no luck. The severity has gotten so bad that I can no longer work full-time. After seeing multiple neurologists and neurosurgeons, I have run out of options. I found a specialist in another state who says brain decompression surgery is the only option to bring me relief and allow me to live a normal, pain-free life. However, due to my insurance, I am not covered for medical procedures outside of my current state. In order to have this life-changing procedure, I will be in another state with the specialist for over a week, but the healing time will take an additional three to four weeks. I will not be able to drive or do most things on my own as I will have weight restrictions and can only be up for short periods.

I am raising money to help with the costs of the surgery and expenses of extended lodging where the specialist is located.
