Hello! For those of you who don't know me, my name is Aleesha Brimah. I am a junior at Vertex Partnership Academies, which is a new International Baccalaureate school in The Bronx, New York.

After being able to go on a once-in-a-lifetime trip to London with the School of Ethics and Global Leadership last summer, fully paid in partnership with my school, I decided to take my own initiative and apply for other programs outside of my school for this summer. I applied for many different summer programs and got into all of them with different scholarships; however, the one that stood out to me the most was a Japanese language and culture program with CIEE in Tokyo, Japan from July 6th until August 2nd, and I got in with a $6,000 scholarship. However, this scholarship only covers some of the cost for the program but not flight expenses and my visa.

I am raising these funds to help cover some of my flight expenses and my visa, as well as any other expenses I may need while I am there. My parents are willing to cover any expenses they can, but this would help them a lot as my siblings this year are also applying for different summer programs and we want to ensure they can obtain their own opportunities too.
