Help Preserve the Legacy of Alborz High School: Support Needed

I’m Maryam Sepehri, and I have completed Alborz: We Climb Mountains, a comprehensive documentary that captures the profound legacy of Alborz High School and its significant role in shaping Iran’s modernization. After its completion in 2022, the film was shown at university screenings, where former Alborz and Sharif University alumni gathered to reflect on their shared experiences. These screenings were met with great enthusiasm, with many alumni generously offering to share their own stories, photos, letters, films, and other personal materials to be archived and made available to anyone interested.

As we enter the final phase of this project, we need your support to preserve, edit, and enhance these priceless materials, which will help complete the historical record of Alborz High School.

Why Is Your Support Crucial?

1. Editing & Restoring Captured Footage

The documentation includes interviews and footage recorded over five years of research, featuring important figures like Mr. Shahvarooghi and Mr. Kamali Nia, two beloved teachers whose impact on students is still fondly remembered. These materials need to be carefully edited and restored for seamless integration into the final collection.

2. Editing & Archiving Donated Materials from Alumni

A significant part of this project comes from the generous contributions of alumni who attended the screenings and offered to share their own materials. These include photographs, films, letters, and other documents that will further enrich the story of Alborz. We need your support to carefully edit, preserve, and organize these materials so they can be archived for future access by anyone in the Alborz community.

3. Ensuring the Project's Quality

To ensure that the final documentation is of the highest quality, we require funds to complete sound design, color grading, and other final touches to enhance the visual and auditory experience.

Editing and restoring the footage we captured, including interviews and original content

Editing and archiving the materials donated by alumni

Final post-production work, including sound editing and color grading

The creation of an online, accessible archive that will be open to all, allowing the Alborz community to revisit their memories and future researchers to explore this rich history
