Help Alana's Dance Education Journey

Hello! My name is Alana, I'm 18 years old originally from Puerto Rico. I'm a dancer going soon to College to pursue dance. This summer I have the pleasure to be participating in a trainee dance program; Zeitgeist Dance Theatre. This is a summer intensive in which all dancers have to audition, and only 40 are chosen to be trainees. Last year was my first year attending this program, and it was an experience like no other. It gave me more security of my dreams and passions regarding dance, one I was already familiar with. I learned so much about myself and my dancing. Zeitgeist Dance Theatre exposed me to so many new individuals with the same aspiring dreams as me, a community like no other. I’m still in contact with so many of these individuals, from all over the country. The leaders are ones with so much knowledge and wisdom making them so special and incomparable. This year, my parents and I have had to do so much more traveling for college auditions, making it hard for us to afford this amazing opportunity. I hate asking for money, but that's what I’m doing! I would really appreciate it if you, and others would be willing to donate some money for us, so that I can have this amazing experience before college. If not, no worries at all, but if you could share this with others you may know, that would be lovely. Thank you so much for taking your time to read and support me!

Hola, me llamo Alana Casas tengo 18 años y soy originalmente de Puerto Rico. Soy bailarina y pronto iré a la Universidad a estudiar danza. Este verano tengo el placer de participar en un programa de entrenamiento aprendiz pre-profesional de baile; Zeitgeist Dance Theatre. Se trata de un intensivo de verano en el que todos los bailarines tienen que hacer una audición, y sólo 40 son elegidos para ser aprendices. El año pasado fue mi primer año participando en este programa, y fue una experiencia inolvidable. Me dio más seguridad sobre mis sueños y pasiones en relación con la danza, con la que ya estaba familiarizada. Aprendí mucho sobre mí misma y sobre mi baile. Zeitgeist Dance Theatre me puso en contacto con muchísimas personas con los mismos sueños que yo, una comunidad sin igual. Sigo en contacto con muchas de esas personas de todas partes del país. Sus líderes tienen tantos conocimientos y sabiduría que los hacen tan especiales e incomparables. Este año, mis padres y yo hemos tenido que viajar mucho más para las audiciones de múltiples universidades, por lo que nos resulta difícil pagar en su totalidad esta increíble oportunidad. Odio pedir dinero, ¡pero eso es lo que estoy haciendo! Realmente apreciaría si usted, y otros estarían dispuestos a donar algo de dinero para nosotros, para que yo pueda tener esta experiencia increíble antes de la universidad. Si no, no se preocupe, pero si pudieras compartir esto con otras personas que conozcas, sería genial. Muchas gracias por dedicar su tiempo a leerme y apoyarme.
