Support a Rising Ballet Star’s Dream in NYC

Hello, my name is Aaron Ruben Davies. I am a professional ballet dancer for 21 years. I am thrilled to have been offered a contract with New York Dance Project in New York City, a dream come true for any dancer. I have recently returned from six weeks of intensive ballet study in New York City. In that time, I danced a principal role with City Dance New York’s production of Midsummer Night’s Dream. I received an offer to become an Apprentice with New York Dance Project. I have accepted this apprenticeship to learn and grow under the tutelage of Davis Robertson, a well-known and much-respected figure in dance. This contract offers solid training, touring, and performance but does not offer a salary. I will be living in the city for nine months and pursuing my passion for ballet. In New York, I will develop my talent for dance while making the professional connections that will last my entire lifetime.

I am seeking $12,000 to help cover my expenses, allowing me to focus entirely on my training and performance. Living in New York City is expensive, and without a salary, I am unable to cover my living expenses such as rent, food, transportation, and ballet-related costs.

How the Funds Will Be Used:

• Rent: $950/month

• Food: $300/month

• Transportation: $83/month

This is my professional dance biography:

Aaron began studying at Classical Ballet Academy in St Paul, Minnesota at age 10. He pursued ballet under the guidance of Andrew and Cheryl Rist. Aaron attended high school at St Paul Conservatory for Performing Artists, where he graduated under their dance track. During that time, he performed with the flash mob in America's Got Talent (2008). Aaron was invited to train with the National Ballet of Guatemala, under the directorship of Dama Sonia Marcos. He spent 3 summers training with them and performed in their production of Bayadere in August 2015. Aaron has performed in Ballet Minnesota's classic ballet productions of The Nutcracker, Don Quixote, Sleeping Beauty, Swan Lake, and Giselle. Including original works of Andrew Rist from 2011-2020. In 2017, he danced with Metropolitan Ballet in their production of Fairy Doll. In 2020 he performed with Kanopy Dance Co. a modern dance company, in “Love is Love” In 2022 Sleeping Beauty with Metropolitan Ballet. In 2023 Swan Lake with Metropolitan Ballet. In 2024 Giselle with Metropolitan Ballet as Hilarion, alongside Danill Simkin and Skylar Brandt. Additionally, he performed with Continental Ballet during their 2018-2023 season, appearing in their Nutcracker and Copeland's Rodeo, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, and Swan Lake. Aaron performed as the Prince in St. Croix Ballet’s Sleeping Beauty Spring of 2024.

Aaron performed with City Dance NY as Bottom in Midsummer Night’s Dream Summer of 2024.
