This article from @slate pretty much explains the whole project:

I've been working with International Neighbors since they approached our Quaker Meeting in September. They requested space for learning pods for kids in the Greenbrier district who've been left out of learning support this fall. I gathered transportation funds for the first 6 weeks. Now the district has moved in-person teaching for its youngest students to January, and more money is needed.
$3255 twill cover costs of van transportation for the 18 refugee English Language Learners between their housing project and the first three learning pods, two of which are at the Quaker Meeting House.
$18 for each of 18 kids?
$33 for each day of service needed?
$100 funds a day of transportation?
This fundraiser is just gathering steam, so I've raised the bar to $7000.
International Neighbors has now found housing in two more churches for other pods, but the transportation for these proposed new pods is now estimated at an additional $12,000 (!). So give here, or give to International Neighbors, and help support these educational efforts. And MANY MANY thanks.
International Neighbors serves the refugee community in Charlottesville, VA, helping immigrants to thrive-not just to survive- as new Americans.
