This past February I went down to Florida and experienced first hand what it's like to change the hearts and minds of people on the issue of abortion. My week with the Canadian Centre for Bioethical Reform (CCBR) was absolutely life-changing. I've been inspired to get active in the culture war and so I'm going to be a summer intern with CCBR and do 4 months of full time pro-life activism. By looking at abortion as a human rights argument and having well-reasoned and compassionate discussions with people on streets and campuses we can change the public perception on abortion. Because CCBR is a non-profit organization, I need to fundraise a significant part of my salary. In the immortal words of Liam Neeson: "I can tell you I don't have money, but what I do have are a very particular set of skills." And while my exploits over the summer won't be anywhere as cinematic as the action scenes from Taken, I guarantee that it will be even higher stakes because the lives of pre-born children will be saved. I am so fortunate that I'm in a place where I can dedicate all of my time to doing this. Even if you can't be out on the streets talking to people, you can make a huge difference. I know that funding my internship is one of the best investments you can make in the pro-life cause.
