Theresa (Terry) HoggardI’ll try to keep this as short as possible, yet hopefully give you a clear understanding of the situation.
My sister, Terry needs your help!
Terry, is a kind, gentle, loving woman. She has had a lifetime of pain and suffering, and has always struggled just to have a healthy life. Then, a few years ago, she saw many doctors and specialists after she began having severe neck pain, but no one had any answers. Her head became “literally stuck”, bent down, with her chin touching her chest (“Chin On Chest Syndrome” is one medical terminology) and she was in constant, severe pain. She wasn’t able to do anything and couldn’t even lay down to sleep because the pain, caused from her head being “stuck” like that, was excruciating.
She was finally diagnosed a few years later with the rare disease, Cervical Dystonia, and Cervical Spinal Stenosis, as well as Severe Cervical Osteoarthritis. The neurosurgeon explained that surgery to remove the vertebrae and raise her head back up, an extremely rare and dangerous procedure, was the only option. Without surgery, she would eventually be in a wheelchair, eating and breathing through tubes.
Terry was put into a medically induced coma for the 3 day operation and remained in the hospital for three months. She now has titanium rods holding her head up, and a titanium “cage” protecting her throat and spinal cord.
Although, there is no cure for the pain she suffers every day, and will for the rest of her life, she remains faithful in her love of our Lord, and believes that His love will see her through. Unfortunately, the pain medication has taken a toll on her health and has destroyed all of her teeth. The cost to give Terry her smile back is $30,000-$60,000 for bone grafting and implants. That is why I’m asking for everyone’s help in prayer and financial support and to help get the word out to your friends and family, and ask them to do the same. Please also, post on all social media and send emails linking to this gofundme page. Any help will be greatly appreciated. God bless you all!

No matter how bad things were, I could always get a smile out of her, that was before her teeth got so bad that she can hardly eat. Let alone smile !
