Howdy. I’m on a mission to get my boots on the ground at Mile High Stadium to witness the possible birth of the next Patriots dynasty (or at the very least, minimize the boys in orange home field advantage).
I’ve been a Patriots fan my entire life, and few things have brought me more pure joy than football. I still vividly remember Super Bowl XLIX, sitting with my dad and my best friend, mentally preparing for heartbreak… and then Malcolm Butler. Goal-line interception. Absolute chaos. Grown men crying. A moment so perfect I’ve been chasing it ever since.
Fast forward to today, and I find myself pursuing that same magic, except now I live in Denver, surrounded by Broncos fans, and tragically in need of your help.
As my poor decisions would have it, I made the financially irresponsible decision to buy both the Epic and Ikon passes this year. Colorado then responded with a ski season that delivered more core shots than powder days. My skis are currently on life support, I have a running tab with the ski doctor that my health insurance does not cover, and my disposable income has been medically pronounced deceased.
To make matters worse, I did not win my fantasy football league. I know. Shocking. That money was earmarked for this very moment, and yet… here we are.
I’ve explored other funding options:
- Selling my body (market research was discouraging)
- Starting a cryptocurrency Ponzi scheme
- Sports betting
- Taking a trip to Blackhawk casino
- Donating plasma
Which brings me here. Humbly. Asking my facebook friends.
This is a bit satirical, a lot hopeful, and based on the undeniable truth that the answer is always no if you don’t ask. If you toss a few bucks my way, you won’t just be helping me get to a football game, you’ll be helping a die-hard fan infiltrate Mile High, reduce the Broncos’ home-field advantage by at least one very loud human, and chase one more unforgettable sports moment.
Even a few dollars helps. And if nothing else, you’ll know you played a small but meaningful role in annoying Broncos fans on championship Sunday.
Go Pats.
