Support a Filmmaker's Summer Project

Hey there internet!

Growing up, my life has revolved around film. Learning about directors, actors, genres, and screenwriters have been one of my favorite hobbies. So much so that I ended up spending a portion of my high school education and a majority of my college education around learning the in and outs of video production. While I enjoy directing and tolerate editing, I love to write scripts of different genres, from sci-fi, thriller, and of course, horror. While it’s been a hot minute since I have worked on a film (since college, to be exact), I’ve been wanting to get back into working on something new, and something scary. I’ve also been getting heavily into photography and editing photos for myself as well as friends. Recently, I’ve been looking into making a short horror film. This film would be roughly an hour or less and would be centered around a young adult and a home invasion during the 2020 lockdown (but with a twist). I am on this wonderful site to help fund a new laptop, as my current computer is hitting the double digits and can no longer update and install editing software for photography, filmmaking, and screenwriting. I am hoping to start this project by the summer and finish it (hopefully) by the early fall if everything works out. I’m currently looking at getting a MacBook due to a lot of my current editing software is able to run on ios on my current phone (apple) and it would be the easiest to transfer and export content instead of reformatting to a different operating software. While my film will find a way onto YouTube once it’s complete, I’m aiming to make my film watchable for those who help fund this project sooner than the public. Updates will happen: that is a promise. Thank you in advance, and a special thank you for everyone who has always believed that I would make a scary movie since my high school days. I’m hoping to make something that will make you all a bit spooked.
