Hi, my name is Jess, I am a Stage and Production Manager working within Theatre and Live Events, which both are huge huge passions of mine. As some of you know I was diagnosed with a inoperable tumour in my pelvis back in 2020, over the last 5 years I have undergone treatment to try and shrink the tumour and we’ve unfortunately recently found out it’s rapidly growing and I have new tumours growing in my shoulder blades too! Due to this my mobility is reducing rapidly and I have been using a manual wheelchair which is heavy and unable to use comfortably alone. Although i currently don’t use the chair everyday I am needing to use it more often and I have been told this will continue.
I have been referred to wheelchair services on the NHS and I have been told the wait list is over 2 years - and often the chair they provide are not suitable for the patient; and are often bulky and heavy.
So I have started to look at going privately to see the options I have; as well as contacting different services.
I have been told a specialists fitted wheelchair that’s custom made for me will cost a lot of money!
I feel so embarrassed having to set up a go fund me but I would be so incredibly grateful for any support for this!! I don’t expect anyone to donate but if you are able to help I would appreciate it more than you know!
Thank you so much in advance
