Funding For "BAD ASS SISTA" A Full Feature Film

* What is your film about?

Working Title: Bad Ass Sista

Synopsis:

At the passing of her father Leon, a well-known drug dealer. Kem is left with the task of settling her father’s final debt with one of the biggest Colombian drug dealers in the game. When she arrives with the payment one week late, the debt has doubled.

Quiet as it’s kept, Leon has taught her well, she is highly trained in the Arts of combat and survival. Kem has to use all her class and skills to try and weasel out of this unwanted burden that is placed on her shoulders. When Kem is backed against the wall, being bad is not an option.

* Who is working on it?

We are a team of motivated filmmakers who create full-feature movies using the state of art digital equipment. Our upcoming movie project is Titled: “BAD ASS SISTA”.

A full-length feature movie starring an African American female. Story is written by: Maurice Jones. AKA Moe Jones.

We are asking for your assistance in raising $25K dollars to shoot our movie so we can bring this film to the movie screen.

* Why are you the right person/people to make it?

We feel that we are the right team of filmmakers that want to tell positive strong stories of real-life situations that show positive role models.

And when these role models are faced with adversity, they can overcome any negative situation if they stay determined and don’t give up.

* What is urgent or relevant about this story at this moment in time (in other words, why make this film now)?

We feel that right now is a great time for independent filmmakers to create full-length films now.

People are curious and want to experience stories about different cultures and how they deal with everyday life.

We feel this is the best way of sharing our stories that others can relate to, by storytelling about how we dwell in our neighborhoods.

Plus we haven’t seen many minority sistas starring in a lead role, as a Martial Artist.

After watching “The Woman King”, we were even more expired to write and produce this story and we are determined to get it made.

What stage of the filmmaking process are you at, and what is your anticipated timeline for completing it?

The screenplay is completed, the project is budgeted and our anticipated time of filming is the last week in July. Location Atlanta, Georgia

Pre Production would be from May to June

Production shoot - July 2023

Post Production - August 2023

Completed Project - September 2023
