The 11-a-side and 5-a-side goals have arrived from the UK to Bishop School of Skills in the township of Bishop Lavis, Cape Town, South Africa.

The hardy grass seed has arrived and the field has been levelled. The borehole, pumping free water from Cape Town's natural aquifers has been fixed, and the booster pump installed. The football shirts for six 5-a-side teams and four 11-a-side teams are printed.

The last piece of the puzzle is to irrigate the field using a pressurised pop up sprinkler system, linking the pitch to the natural water from the borehole... and it's not cheap.

It costs the equivalent of £10K to install and because of South Africa's climate there is no other way.

The school is in a community in Cape Town with a lot of serious challenges. Gangsters and drug dealers either run a lot of the businesses in the area or fleece them for weekly payments. There is terrible poverty and the school is really struggling.

The pupils at the school are special needs students sent from all over Cape Town. We donated Prof Julian Leff's piano and found a music teacher and now the school has a choir. However, there is nowhere for the pupils to play, so this football pitch is really needed.

The water system will also be connected to the school's toilet flushing system to save on water and save the school money.
