I'm Suzanne and my Dad is a Community Cardiac Responder. After 3 years volunteering as one of the Fraserburgh First Responders, my Dad has joined the Wildcat Responders (part of the Ambulance Service)
He responds to any cardiac emergency within a 10 mile radius of his home in Strichen.
As you all know, that covers a lot of very rural and remote areas where there are no community access defibrillators. This means that he needs a portable one to take with him.
Unfortunately the charity doesn't have the funds to provided these to all their volunteers so, at the moment, he has a loan of one. (If he uses it, he will have to replace the pads himself at a cost of £80 a pair!). But this is only a temporary solution and so I have set up this page to raise funds to buy one for him. If we can do that, then the Wildcat charity have said that they will provide replacement pads and batteries for it when needed.
There are 2 types of defib which are suitable. One costs about £1100. The other costs nearer £3k (but there are second hand ones available) so I am aiming to raise £1100 if I can.
This is such an essential service to provide for our local area, so I hope you will help if you can. If you can't donate, please share. Thank you.
