Fund a Defibrillator for The Odeon in Sheffield

On the evening of Saturday the 2nd of October 2021, our adored Pops (Malcolm Clarke) suffered a sudden Cardiac Arrest whilst at the Cinema in Sheffield- ironically, waiting to watch 'No Time to Die'!

 

We are so thankful that there were medical professionals on scene to start early CPR, but it took more than 15 minutes to find a defibrillator- the equipment that would ultimately bring him back to us.

 

A few members of the public, along with Malcolm's son-in-law, attempted to locate a defibrillator, and after searching local public areas, they made their way to a local theatre (across a dual-carriageway) to secure one.

 

Amazingly, after two shocks from the defibrillator, Malcolm's pulse returned and he was transported to Sheffield General Northern Hospital where he grew more and more stable.

After spending a week in Sheffield Northern General Hospital, he was transferred to his home Hospital in Bournemouth and had a permanent defibrillator fitted.

He is now back at home with us in Bournemouth and we look forward to spending another Christmas together once again.

 

We, as a family, are raising money to buy a defibrillator for the cinema where Malcolm's Cardiac Arrest took place so that, if this tragic event were to ever happen again, the individual will have the best chances of survival.

 

We, and Pops, know how lucky we are to have the opportunity to make more memories together, with the help of your kind donations, we wish to give other families the chance to have the same miraculous outcome as us.
