Fund a Deaf Friendly Intercom for Braidwood School!
Donation protected
I’m Emily- a teacher at Braidwood Trust School for the Deaf in Birmingham, a unique and inspiring place where Deaf students thrive in an inclusive and supportive environment.
Right now, we face a significant barrier: our school intercom system is not accessible to our Deaf staff, students, or visitors. As we share our school site with another school, the current intercom system was installed to meet general needs- but it relies entirely on audio, making it inaccessible for many members of our Deaf community to communicate at the school gates.
I want to change that.
I am fundraising to install a new, Deaf-friendly video intercom system. This will allow staff and visitors to communicate directly with our office team using British Sign Language (BSL) via video. It’s a simple but vital upgrade that will make a huge difference in accessibility and inclusion at our school.
To help make this happen, my friends and I will be taking on a 5K Tough Mudder challenge on 5th July- braving mud, water, and obstacles to raise the funds needed for this important project.
Every donation, big or small, helps us create a more welcoming, accessible school. Please support and share our journey.
