To educate, motivate and inspire children to eat real food.
Hello! I am Chef Sue- an entrepreneur, mom, wife, educator, motivator, inspirer, and a "real food" enthusiast. I am going to expand my growing business to create a teaching classroom in my community of Marietta, Georgia, where children and adults can experience Fun with Food classes, workshops and camps. My vision for the space is a small, simple room with bright white walls and colorful illustrations of fruits and vegetables. Fun with Food has been growing since 2015. My program is currently in schools, churches, hospitals, farms and homes and I have had hundreds of students in the past four years. Fun with Food is successful and well-loved by teachers, parents and kids and I am going to create opportunities for others in the community to be a part of this educational program.
In Fun with Food we experiment, taste, smell, assemble, cut, cook and play with food. We learn about healthy eating habits, food appreciation, health benefits, food availability, we incorporate math+science+art, kitchen safety, sanitation and lots more! Classes are always Vegetarian.
The total I have requested will allow me to rent a space for one year and to purchase the equipment needed to set up a humble and functional space. I do not want to ask for more than I need but I do want this to work. Any extra donations will be put back into the teaching space or used as scholarships for students to take classes or for me to teach after school classes in Title 1 schools in our area.
Thank you for believing in my work, for supporting me and the work I am about to do. You can find more about me and my program on my website at www.leafandloaf.com
