I’m asking for support for the Fumia family and my friend Christina in particular. Her parents were in a terrible motorcycle accident on September 19 and her father passed. The driver who hit them is under-insured and there is no insurance money coming to this family after Medicare settles, which could take years. The driver is only getting a citation for this even though she killed her father. Her mother has serious brain damage and may never be able to walk, read, write, drive or live independently again. She needs 24 hour care that Medicare doesn't pay for. Christina needs help now. Christina is an only child and has given up her career to take care of her mother. She now has the responsibility of handling everything with the passing of her father, her parents’ house in Florida, her parents’ 3 dogs, and her own bills to keep her household in California running. This is far more than one person should ever need to handle and she needs our support now more than ever. No contribution is too small. I know she would appreciate literally anything.
