Finish Masters Degree: FINAL COURSE
Hi, my name is Aaliyah Paul. I’m enrolled in graduate school at Northcentral University. Recently in May, I walked across the stage to receive my master degree but I was not quite done. The school allows you to attend graduation if you have 2 courses left (6 credits). I only had one course left. Each course is 8 weeks. 8 weeks of a semester’s worth of work jam packed. I did finish the course, but not with a high enough grade to maintain a gpa of 3.0 or higher. I received a 2.96 because my last few courses I struggled to get through. I was and am still dealing with postpartum depression. I was trying to push through after having my third daughter. I didn’t want to take a break from school because I didn’t want it to end up being a break that never ended. I thought I could handle it but my grades proved I couldn’t, which means I will not receive my degree unless I retake a course. Financial aid(loans) doesn’t pay for a course retake and I truly need help. It also has to be done within a timely fashion, it won’t be enough time to raise on my own. I just need to pay for one course, and figure out the rest of my student debt later. I would really love to have the accomplishment of a masters degree so everyone that is watching from the outside can be proud.
