Care for Carole

Donation protected
The pandemic has affected all of us in different ways. It has been a struggle just coping with the new changes in day to day life, but for some it has been even more challenging when also facing a diagnosis & treatment of grade 3 beast cancer.

Our Carole, an amazing mum, sister, daughter, aunt and nanny. An NHS nurse since she was 18 years old, with now 40+ years of service, full of love and care for anyone that crosses her path. A strong, brave and selfless woman that has dedicated her life to caring for others and always putting everyone else's needs before her own. It's now our time to take care of her.

Carole attended a routine mammogram in November 2020, which sadly showed signs of cancerous cells. A biopsy was completed and Carole was diagnosed grade 2 breast cancer in December 2020.

As the journey of consultations began, each appointment came with more negative news. Carole was offered reconstructive surgery to remove the cancer in February. Following the surgery, test result found the cancer had unfortunately spread and was moved to grade 3. This meant that Carole would require her chemo and radiotherapy to start on the 26th March for 6-12 months , sadly followed by a full mastectomy. We remain highly hopefully that the treatment will be successful.

In aid of this fundraiser, Carole's daughter and 2 friends will embark on a 100km(62mile) Ultra Challenge, that is equivalent to 2.5 marathons - continuous!!!

This will push their limits and is completely out of there comfort zone, but as 3 best friends, they will support one another to complete the challenge whilst raising money for a wonderful woman that they all care for deeply.

This mad challenge will take place 12-13th June 2021.

The money raised will go to support Carole throughout her chemotherapy and radiotherapy journey, it’s a very long road ahead but we want Carole to be as comfortable as possible, to have everything she needs during a very difficult time and items to aid her recovery from treatment and to show her how much she is loved and that there is so much support for her and her family.

Every penny helps and we are so grateful for every donation.
