Full Tummies for Dogs & Cats

My name is Emma Williams.

I am the founder of Full Tummies (Dogs & Cats) Community Interest Company. This is a non profit organisation and our mission is to help lessen food waste by collecting donated animal food products and distributing them to where they are most needed whether it is a rescue shelter, animal charity or local food bank.

The rescue shelters are overflowing currently, with reduced funds and fewer adoptions due in part to the cost of living crisis. So with extensive numbers of animals to feed they are stretched, this is leading to people having to give up their furry companions. We are providing food within these establishments and hope to stop the separation of owners and pets which is beneficial for everyone.

The seed for this all began several years ago when I was alerted to a horrifying story where many animals needed to flee a war zone during an evacuation. I began working alongside this particular NGO and then went on to work with many others over the next few years.

I had a desperate yearning to help and the next step was to form an organisation to do this, so that is exactly what I did. I started Full Tummies CIC. We look to the public and businesses for monetary donations to allow us to purchase and distribute food directly to fill the tummies of underprivileged dogs and cats.

We are in constant contact with animal food producers, retailers and fulfilment companies that are happy to donate food to our cause, as many resellers aren’t able to sell food that is close to it’s use by date, we are pleased to accept this to save it going into landfill.

If you have even just a few pennies to spare every little really does help, the animals will be over the moon, as will I. This will ensure we are able to continue to push this project forward as the cost of living crisis is far from over and this dire situation seems only to worsen.
