My name is Jamine and this is my story – On April 27th, my world shattered right underneath me. I lost my mother, Francoise, who was a single mom who raised me and my two siblings. She was fighting COVID-19 for a little over two weeks in the hospital. My mother was a loving person and not a single person who knew her had any negative remarks. She was a delight and such a warm person; from the day she was a child until her last breath. My mother loved to cook, served the Lord, and enjoyed taking care of everyone around her. She was a hard worker who worked two jobs in the health care industry and always made sure we were taken care of while always making room to help others in need.
Francoise left behind three children (ages 22, 21, 13); we are trying to keep afloat in this difficult time and move forward. In hoping to keep my mother’s memory alive and her wishes, I as a 22-year-old, am now the caretaker for my two siblings. Now, more than ever, it is better for us to stay together than to be apart. We are still in school and I would like for us to continue our education despite this devastating loss. My brother, 21, is an anticipated sophomore hoping to complete his four years at Bridgewater State. My sister, 13, is currently ending her middle school year as an 8th grader. And I am hoping to enter my junior year this coming fall semester at Bridgewater State and be on track to complete my bachelor’s degree. It has always been my mom’s dream for all of us to stay in school and graduate from college. For us to move forward, we need your assistance. We would appreciation a donation of any amount.
