Hello, everyone. My name is Charity Adkins, and I am humbly reaching out to you during one of life’s hardest battles.
On March 16, 2024, after nearly two years of pain, countless hospital visits, and ongoing health struggles, I was diagnosed with stage four metastatic gastric cancer. This diagnosis followed years of dealing with kidney stones and kidney failure, leading to the placement of a stint, all while balancing full-time work and raising my four wonderful children.
Despite the best efforts of my medical team, my cancer was only discovered this March. I began chemotherapy on March 27, holding onto hope for more time with my family. For months, I endured treatment, but on June 17, as I prepared for stomach surgery, my doctors discovered the cancer had spread too far. Surgery wasn’t an option, and I was placed in hospice palliative care. Then, on Halloween, I received the news I feared most: I likely have only 6 to 12 months left to live.
My heart aches knowing my time with my children is limited, but I’m determined to make the most of every moment I have left. That’s why I’m reaching out to you—to help fulfill my final wish of creating precious, lasting memories with my children and preparing for end-of-life expenses.
