On April 1st, our lives changed forever. Angelita Alvarez became severely ill, facing a rapid decline due to unforeseen medical complications. We soon received the devastating news that it was Stage 4 cancer.
Angelita was an incredible woman who was loved by so many. She was an amazing Mother, Grandmother, Daughter, Sister, Aunt and Friend. She worked hard alongside her late husband Jose Silva and their 5 children, Alma Rosa, Maribel, Jose Arturo, Ana Lilia and Cuquis and together they ran and managed their bakery Pastelería Emporio based in Sahuayo Mexico for 25+ years.
Angelita was a fighter. She met this battle with incredible courage and didn’t go without a fight, but sadly, she lost her battle on her birthday, April 29. Now, our family's priority is fulfilling her final wish: to bring her back home to her beautiful town of Cojumatlán, Michoacán, Mexico.
Because of how quickly everything happened, we were unprepared for the significant costs of international transportation and the final arrangements needed to get her back to the land she loved. We are reaching out to our community, friends, and family to ask for help in bringing Angelita home so she can finally rest in peace. Thank you all for your support.
El Primero de Abril, nuestras vidas cambiaron para siempre. Angelita Álvarez se enfermó gravemente, enfrentando un rápido deterioro debido a complicaciones médicas imprevistas. Poco después, recibimos la devastadora noticia de que se trataba de un cáncer en etapa 4.
Angelita fue una mujer increíble, amada por muchísimas personas. Fue una madre, abuela, hija, hermana, tía y amiga maravillosa. Trabajó junto a su difunto esposo, José Silva, y sus 5 hijos —Alma Rosa, Maribel, José Arturo, Ana Lilia y Cuquis—; juntos manejando su pastelería, Pastelería Emporio en Sahuayo, México, durante más de 25 años.
Angelita fue una luchadora. Enfrentó esta batalla con una valentía increíble y no se rindió sin dar pelea; sin embargo, tristemente, perdió la batalla el día de su cumpleaños: el 29 de abril. Ahora, la prioridad de nuestra familia es cumplir su último deseo: llevarla de regreso a su hogar, a su hermoso pueblo de Cojumatlán, Michoacán, México.
Debido a la rapidez con la que sucedieron los acontecimientos, no estábamos preparados para afrontar los considerables gastos del traslado internacional ni los arreglos funerarios necesarios para llevarla de vuelta a la tierra que tanto amaba. Recurrimos a nuestra comunidad, amigos y familiares para solicitar su ayuda y poder llevar a Angelita a casa, para que así pueda descansar finalmente en paz. Gracias a todos por su apoyo.
