Fulfill the TAMU Dream
Exciting Update: Carlos Eduardo Espina, immigrant advocate, content creator, and social media personality has offered to match contributions up to $5000. Giving now means that your contributions are doubled. Thanks to Carlos and to all who are supporting these students in need.
In 2001, the Texas Dream Act—signed by Governor Rick Perry—gave certain undocumented students who graduated from Texas high schools the chance to pay in-state tuition at public universities and colleges. For over two decades, this law opened doors for thousands of talented young people to pursue their education and contribute to our communities.
But this June, the Trump administration sued the State of Texas over the law, and Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton declined to defend it. As a result, many students—some just a semester or two from graduating—have suddenly lost access to in-state tuition.
The impact is devastating. The difference between in-state and out-of-state tuition at Texas A&M is about $15,000 per year. For many of these students, that’s an impossible gap to fill on short notice. Without urgent help, they will be forced to put their education—and their dreams—on hold.
We are raising emergency funds to support affected students at Texas A&M through the Brazos Interfaith Immigration Network, a trusted local nonprofit. Your donations will go directly to students who are in the greatest need. An estimated 200 A&M students are impacted In distributing funds, we will prioritize those for whom our funds will have the most impact to help them finish their educational journey.
Your gift—no matter the size—will make a real, immediate difference in a student’s life.
- $25 helps, especially if you get 3 friends to contribute too
- $100 is what a student needs for books and supplies
- $500 can help with monthly living expenses
- $1,000+ can directly offset the massive tuition increase
These students have worked hard, graduated from Texas schools, and are striving to contribute to our state. Let’s stand with them now, in their moment of need.
Please donate and share this campaign widely. Together, we can ensure these Aggies get the chance to cross the finish line.
Tuition is due on August 22 -- please contribute now!
