On August 12th at 5pm, after so many years of fighting to beat what started as Breast cancer, then lung, and finally brain cancer, Ashley Jenkins took her last breath and is now at peace. Her mother Donna Jenkins was by her side, and her husband and boys had just left a few minutes prior but able to give her kisses and tell her they loved her. She knew it was time to let go.
The last 6 months have been the hardest on the family as she became essentially immobile and unable to care for herself alone when the seizures began. Because of that, her incredible husband Juan has had to take a lot of time off of work to be by her side. So as you can imagine finances are lingering and some of Ashley’s last wishes have had to be put on hold.
Ashley did not want to have a formal funeral, so the family will be receiving visitors at The Jones Funeral Home in Swansboro, NC on 08/17/2022 from 2-4.
As most of you know, Ashley was a HUGE Harry Potter fan, so she has actually reached out to a company that is currently designing an absolutely gorgeous Harry Potter urn for her ashes as she has also request to be cremated.
Her biggest concern and her reason for fighting for so long was her children. She was an INCREDIBLE mother, teacher, cook, friend, sister, wife, Disney lover, and entrepreneur.
We ask at this time that in lieu of flowers, please donate to this family to help Juan grant these last wishes and get back on track to continue taking care of his family.
She loved you all, and I know would be absolutely humbled by the outpouring of love that this family has seen through this process.
I am aware that Gofund me does charge a small fee for donating, so I have decided to insure that the family collects the entire amount donated, I will cover those fees. Everything collected goes DIRECTLY to Juan Vargas and her 3 beautiful boys.
Thanks again.
