Fulfill Amado's Final Wish

Hi, my name is Melissa, and the man in the photos above is my favorite uncle, Amado. About a year ago, he began to feel unwell and visited the doctor. After being examined, he was sent to the emergency room due to symptoms suggesting a stroke. The hospital conducted several tests and diagnosed him with Transverse Myelitis and Lyme Disease. He received treatment and was sent home, but he struggled to walk independently and required the assistance of a walker and someone to support him.

Over time, he began to improve and was able to walk on his own using a cane. However, in December 2024, he started experiencing a loss of sensation in his left arm and difficulties with his left side, prompting another trip to the hospital. He was admitted for six weeks, during which the doctors administered steroids and diagnosed him with Multiple Sclerosis (MS). After returning home, his condition worsened, and he began to lose his ability to walk and talk.

In March 2025, he received his first dose of treatment for MS, but unfortunately, there were no improvements, and his situation continued to deteriorate. On April 2nd, he had an appointment with his neurologist for his second dose of treatment. After returning home, he suffered a seizure, which led us to call an ambulance. At the new hospital, they decided to perform a biopsy, and he was eventually diagnosed with Lymphoma. We requested chemotherapy and asked the doctors to do everything possible to help him.

This week, his care team informed us that there was nothing more they could do, and he may have only a few months left. Before becoming mute, his final wish was to return home to Mexico. We spoke with the doctors about transporting him, but were informed that he would need to be moved safely via air ambulance. We have reached out to various services, and the estimated costs range from $40,000 to $60,000.

My uncle was an incredible person and a second father to me. He has been there for me since the day I was born, and I want to honor his wish to return home. If you can donate anything to help us, it will bring us closer to fulfilling his last wish. Thank you for your support.
