Help Treasure Achieve His Dream Of Studying Dance In Europe

Hi, my name is Abubakarr Mansaray, but my friends call me Treasure. I’m a 22-year-old dancer from Sierra Leone, currently living and working in The Gambia. Dance has been my passion since I was 10 years old, and now I have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to take my talent to an international level!

Recently, I was awarded a prestigious three-year scholarship from the EurAsia Dance Project to study Contemporary Dance at the DanceHaus HipHop Department in Milan, Italy, starting in October 2025. This scholarship is a dream come true, but I need your help to make it a reality.

A Life Shaped by Hardship

I grew up in Sierra Leone in a family that struggled with poverty every day. My parents worked tirelessly to provide for me and my siblings, but life was never easy. When I was just 15, my world turned upside down—I lost both my father and my elder sister within three months of each other. With no financial support left, I had to move away from home, work to support myself, and find a way to finish high school on my own.

Despite the challenges, I refused to give up. Dance became my escape, my hope, and eventually my way of surviving. I started competing in dance contests to pay for food and basic living expenses. Over time, my passion turned into a purpose, helping me endure life’s hardships and dream of a brighter future.

In 2017, I joined a competitive dance group and, through dedication and hard work, we won first place at the Gambia Dance Championships in 2022. This success opened doors for me to work full-time as a dancer at a resort in The Gambia. Dance has not only allowed me to survive but also shown me that I can achieve so much more.

Why I Need Your Help

This scholarship is my chance to break the cycle of poverty and become the professional dancer and choreographer I’ve always dreamed of being. Unfortunately, the scholarship only covers 50% of my tuition fees. To take this opportunity, I need to raise €13,500 by October 2025.

Here’s how the funds will be used:

• €10,000: To meet the European Union’s requirements, I must prove that I’m able to financially support myself. This money will be used to cover rent, food, and living expenses for my first year, since I am not allowed to work on a student visa for the first year.

• €600–€900: Flight to Milan.

• €200–€500: Visa application and required documents.

• €2,000: First school payment to secure my spot.
