Friends, I’m reaching out on behalf of my dear friend, Kristofer.

Many of you know that Kristofer became a paraplegic after a tragic hit-and-run accident. He lost both of his parents when he was very young and has no siblings or family members to turn to for help. Through all of life’s challenges, his loyal service dog, Bruiser, has been his constant companion, his best friend, and his lifeline.

Bruiser is now 17 years old. He is blind from cataracts and can no longer walk. Kristofer has cared for him with immense love, even getting him a doggie wheelchair, but as you can imagine, this has become incredibly difficult since both Kristofer and Bruiser are unable to walk on their own.

There is hope. Kristofer has the opportunity to meet a potential new service dog in Washington State, a partner who can help restore his independence, safety, and dignity. Unfortunately, the costs are more than he can manage on his Social Security income.

This fundraiser will help cover:

    •    Amtrak tickets for Kristofer to travel to Washington

    •    Specialized training for the new service dog to meet his specific needs

    •    End-of-life veterinary care for his beloved Bruiser
