Hey everyone,

I've set up this GoFundMe for my cousin, Harmoni and her Dad, Bill.

Bill was diagnosed with throat cancer a few months ago. Never smoked a day in his life but it's still possible and because it wasn't caused by smoking, the survival rate is very high 85%.

Unfortunately, Cancer is expensive! Bill was working but was considered an owner/operator and falls under the self employed category which knocks him out for most government funding. Harmoni has helped him apply for ones he is eligible for but sometimes it can take up to 4 months for an answer.

2 weeks ago, Bill was taken in to emergency when he had trouble breathing. He underwent emergency surgery for a tracheostomy and a feeding tube to make everything easier as he goes thru treatment. He was released on Sunday and is resting comfortably at home but there is a long list of supplies not covered by BC Medical that is going to put a huge strain on both Bill and Harmoni financially.

His treatment will consist of 7 weeks of radiation and chemotherapy together so he is unable to return to work until several months after treatment is complete because of side effects.

I'm hoping with this, we can help ease the financial strain for them.

Harmoni is the one looking after him. She takes him to all his treatments and appointments as well as took the time to learn all home care for him with his trach and feeding tube. Because of this, she had to quit one of her jobs and is now living off her Liquor store job, working nights so she can help her dad. The cost of rent, travel to and from all his treatments, monthly bills and the cost of supplies for feeding and other supplies that are not covered by medical will really put a burden on them.

Anything anyone could contribute would be a great help and I know they will be so grateful. Right now is a time that people shouldn’t have to stress about money and just focus on beating this.
