I am facing homelessness.

Hello, my name is Tyler and I have lived in my minivan for over 2 years after losing my condo during Covid.

I purchased my van from a small car lot that was unfortunately not forthcoming about my van’s condition and over the past couple of years I have spent more on repairs than I actually paid for my van. A few months ago, my van broke down and I was unable to pay for another repair. With limited options, I took out a loan against my van that has a very high interest rate. Shortly after getting my van fixed, my van broke down yet again and I missed a loan payment.

Because of the very high interest rate and the late fee penalties the loan quickly became more than I could afford and to date, the loan company refuses to work with me to help me get back on track and is in the process of trying to repossess my van which is my only home.

My van still has outstanding issues and has nearly 300,000 miles. I am hoping that I can save and raise enough money quickly to put a down payment on a newer lower mileage van that will be more reliable.
