My name is Marta Muyshondt
I’m 32 years old and was recently diagnosed with stage 2 Hodgkin Lymphoma. It all began when I started to feel tiny lumps around my neck and struggled with a lingering cough that just wouldn’t go away. The doctor only prescribed anti-inflammatory medications for my neck thinking it was just a minor inflammation until 3 month passed only to see the lumps grow. When the doctor sent me to get an ultrasound of my neck and scheduled a procedure to extract a sample of the growing mass, on that day, March 20, was when I received the news my family and I dreaded. It was cancer.
It has not been easy and even more so with Covid-19 to be able to receive the treatment I need to beat this cancer. I have gotten halfway through this journey thanks to a lot of people that have supported us. However, I’m in need of another operation in which they insert a catheter now that my veins can no longer withstand the constant poking for exams and procedures and financially cover the second part of the treatment. Your support would help me continue these life-saving treatments. Thank you!

Mi nombre es Marta Muyshondt
Tengo 32 años y recientemente me diagnosticaron con Hodgkin Lymphoma en etapa 2. Todo comenzó cuando comencé a sentir pequeños bultos alrededor de mi cuello y luché con una tos persistente que simplemente no desaparecía. El médico solo me recetó medicamentos antiinflamatorios para el cuello pensando que era una inflamación menor hasta que pasaron 3 meses solo para ver crecer los bultos. El médico me envió a hacerme una ecografía del cuello y programó un procedimiento para extraer una muestra de la masa en crecimiento, ese día, 20 de marzo, fue cuando recibí la noticia que mi familia y yo temíamos. Era cancer.
No ha sido fácil y más aún con Covid-19 para poder recibir el tratamiento que necesito para vencer este cáncer. He llegado a la mitad de este viaje gracias a muchas personas que nos han apoyado. Sin embargo, necesito otra operación en la que me insertarán un catéter ahora que mis venas ya no pueden soportar la constante intervención de los exámenes y también lograr cubrir financieramente la segunda etapa del tratamiento. Su apoyo me ayudaría a continuar con estos tratamientos que salvan vidas. ¡Gracias!
