Who are we and what are we doing?
We are a multidisciplinary group of engineering students at Michigan State University. As engineering students, we are very dedicated to finding real and innovative solutions to tackle problems that our world faces. This is a student-run project that aims to design and construct a self-contained IEC fusion reactor system, inspired by compact research-grade platforms. The system will integrate high-vacuum, high-voltage, fuel delivery, and control subsystems into a single cohesive automated unit.
Why are we doing this?
The problem we have identified is sustainable energy production. Our project aims to understand how fusion energy can be produced at a small scale. Our goal is to create a compact, automated fusion device capable of producing measurable fusion reactions through fast neutron detection. Although we cannot generate usable power, by bringing young students together to understand the process of nuclear fusion we hope to not only harbor engagement but also encourage new ideas in this field of study. Our project provides invaluable experience in multiple fields of engineering that expands past what we can learn in the classroom.
How can you help?
Every donation from you directly supports our team. From the purchase of materials, vacuum equipment, machining, electronics, safety equipment, and testing, you are bringing our ambitious vision to life.
By supporting us, you are investing in the next generation of engineers. Support us in our effort to demonstrate what passionate students can accomplish when a community believes in them. Thank you for turning our idea into a reality.
