Hello, my name is Curtis Laffin, and I’m raising funds for my cousin, Jessica Tulloch, and her family. If you know Jessie, you know she’s always the first to lend a helping hand, yet asking for help is the last thing she would ever do. Already a survivor of Stage IV Wilms Tumor at age five, Jessie is grateful to have made it 37 years without serious secondary issues. Unfortunately, in 2025, she received two separate, unrelated cancer diagnoses within a week of each other.
The first was thyroid cancer, handled in state by a phenomenal team of doctors. Jessie’s determination and vigilance allowed her to catch it early, resulting in a thyroidectomy in March and no additional treatment needed, aside from a daily medication.
However, the second diagnosis was a rare soft tissue sarcoma, “2-4 in a million are diagnosed each year”, requiring specialized imaging and a multidisciplinary sarcoma team, none of which are available in Idaho. This means Jessie must travel every three months to MD Anderson in Houston for imaging and updated consultation for her sarcoma: This rare soft tissue sarcoma is a lifelong cancer. Even with their health insurance coverage, the value of the medical costs they have incurred maxing out their deductibles and co-pays is abhorrent, especially knowing they will have to budget annually for the astronomical maximum balances due for the necessary medical costs. Insurance will NOT cover travel expenses—flights, hotels, gas, and meals—are paid entirely out of pocket, and travel miles will be fully depleted after December.
Because of the demands of her treatment, Jessie has had to substantially reduce the business services she offers her clients, greatly limiting her family's income for these burdensome costs. She loves her work, but making appointments, staying up-to-date on clinical trials, and supporting Cameron through these challenges outweigh the loss of income from her services.
The funds raised will help offset the costly annual medical bills and prescriptions, travel for out-of-state treatment, and provide ongoing supportive care for Jessie, Don, Connor, and Cameron. Jessie is deeply aware of how emotional burdens can weigh on a family, especially watching her son, 13-year-old Cameron, navigate life and school through this journey. After watching her own mother, Kathy, battle cancer for nearly eight years, Jessie is determined to provide a sense of normalcy and peace for her family.
No one should have to choose between medical care and family stability. Jessie would never ask for help herself, but her loved ones hope you’ll join us in lifting her burden. Donations, prayers, and messages of encouragement mean the world during this difficult time.
Every donation, prayer, and thoughtful message helps Jessie continue her fight with unwavering strength—and gives her family hope as they move forward together.
