A Safe Car for a Fresh Start

Hi, my name is Maia. I’m a single mom of two, a survivor of domestic violence, and the founder of Sacred Heart Sanctuary — a space I’m building to help others heal, reconnect, and find community through holistic care and ceremony.

Recently, I was in a car accident while towing my vehicle, with my daughter in the backseat. Thankfully, we are both safe — but my car was completely totaled. The insurance payout I received was small, and it isn’t enough to replace the vehicle I lost.

Since the accident, I’ve been unable to drive to work, attend community events, or take on nannying and cleaning gigs that help me provide for my children. Most importantly, I no longer have reliable transportation to take my kids to the doctor or hospital in an emergency — or even to do simple things like get groceries.

I’ve worked incredibly hard to rebuild my life after leaving a domestic violence situation last year. I have no family here in Utah, and I’ve been doing everything I can to create a stable, nurturing environment for my children while pursuing my dream of helping others heal.

Having a safe, sturdy vehicle isn’t just a convenience for us — it’s a necessity. It would allow me to:

• Secure steady work and income again

• Rebuild my business and serve my community

• Safely transport my children

• Regain a sense of independence and security
