Hi everyone — My name is Kayla Ferguson, also known professionally as Zana. I’m the founder of Oak and Onyx Studios — a fresh, independent video production and photography studio rooted in storytelling, transformation, and celebrating every shade of beauty and creativity.

Like an oak, my dream has deep roots — and like onyx, it’s bold, strong, and beautifully layered.

Many of you stood by me when I first set out to pursue a creative career years ago. Some of you even helped me raise money to attend a film school in Los Angeles. But after losing my grandparents, I lost my spark. I drifted away from film and photography, switched majors, and for a while, I let my dream slip away.

Today, I’m back — stronger and more focused than ever. I now hold a certificate in creative writing and am working toward my associate degree in digital cinematography. I’ve rebuilt my passion and skills from the ground up — and Oak and Onyx Studios is the next step in turning my vision into a reality that serves you.
