Fuel the Rescue: Help the dumped desert cats!
Donation protected
We are working really hard to help kitties that have been callously dumped across our beautiful state. There's so much more to the story that we can't share right now, but we are spending so much in gas throughout these rescue efforts. Those that are more familiar with what is going on understand how much driving this has been and how urgent it is to get these kitties, these friendly pet kitties, back into safety and shelter. They're being found in the hot Arizona desert, in urban, rural, state, and tribal land and they keep linking back to the same terrible origin.
Our volunteers want to keep making these long drives, these frequent drives, and getting them into safe foster homes, but the burden of the fuel alone is slowing us down. We are having to pay for expenses when we make these long rescue missions, we are paying for so much out of pocket to get these kitties started while they await foster homes, of which there have only been a couple stepping up, and even some cases of vet bills and medications for kitties that could not wait until processed with a rescue.
The handful of us leading this project are finding ourselves without any cash left to take on this week's needed rescues, foster home transporting, surveillance, trapping, and vet visits driving. We need help.
The 3 of us that are doing the most frequent rescue driving live an hour from the closest dumping site and 3 hours from the furthest. There are hundreds of cats spread across the 5 known sites and several other suspected sites we have to drive to and assess.
