This team started in early fall 2024; working through the fall 2024 and spring 2025 semesters at Texas Tech University as a senior capstone project. During that time, a group of 6 students designed and manufactured a liquid rocket motor and its test stand. After months of design, manufacturing, and weeks of testing the design expo was coming up. But the weekend before the design expo on May 3rd, 2025, the first successful static fire of a liquid rocket motor at Texas Tech University was achieved. Over the summer of 2025, a new liquid rocket motor and several upgrades to the team's test stand have been designed and are ready for manufacturing. But progress is expensive; many necessary upgrades and innovations require resources that this team does not currently have. This team is entering its first semester as an official Raider Aerospace Society R&D team and has quickly grown from 6 to 25 students. Working to develop powerful liquid rocket motors to enable Texas Tech University to compete in national liquid rocketry competitions. With your support, this team could continue to make history at Texas Tech and drive innovation for liquid rocket development.
Raider Aerospace Society is a student led organization dedicated towards the education and development of assorted aerospace topics. We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, and our work is supported entirely due to the generosity of companies and the community.
