Fuel the Future: Donate to Explorer Post 1010

Donation protected
Hi, we are the Explorer Post 1010 rocketry team. We are a group of high school students that work to build high and low-powered rockets for competitions locally and nationally. As a team, we also build payloads for these rockets that work to test hypotheses or make parts of amateur rocketry easier. The Explorer Post 1010 rocketry team gives students an opportunity to do hands-on work that would normally only be seen in college-level teams.

Use of Funds

We will use the funds to compete in three competitions this year and build our designs. We plan on building a rocket constructed from mostly fiberglass that reaches altitudes of around 10,000 ft. Any money donated will not be used for travel, food or etc. The donations will only be used to purchase materials for the rocket and to fund the construction process.

Previously

Explorer Post 1010 is a team that has been active for over 20 years. The Explorer Post 1010 has multiple different teams including rocketry, robotics and drones. The rocketry team, who we are, continuously competes in local and national competitions. Previously, our team competed in NASA Student Launch Initiative (SLI) , a national NASA competition, which included writing many 100+ page documents, and flying to Huntsville, Alabama to showcase our work. We have also competed in the America Rocketry Challenge (ARC) for numerous years. In 2021, the team placed 2nd in ARC and in 2024, the team won 2nd for vehicle design in NASA SLI. Last year the team made it to the finals of ARC and met Rep. Jamie Raskin. Over the years, the rocketry Post 1010 team has acquired many awards but most importantly it has brought up a new generation of engineers interested in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, computer science and much more.

This Year

In order to continue competing in these competitions, we depend on donations and sponsors. This year the team is competing in three competitions: ARC, FAR Unlimited and Battle of the Rockets. FAR Unlimited is a high-powered rocketry competition that will allow the team to showcase our proof of concept including a system that could have lots of potential in the future of amateur rocketry and possibly professional rocketry. We are planning on building a rocket that goes to an altitude of around 10,000 ft. For this design, the team needs to purchase materials and composites.

Conclusion

As this season continues, we aim to reach higher, hoping to at least double the previous height reached of our rocket last year. If possible, we are asking for donations to help our dreams and work become a reality.
