We are in the midst of an amazing robotics season. Our key events are taking place right now: The Somerville Highlanders, Team 6201, are competing in the FIRST ® Robotics competitions right here in Massachusetts. Each year, our high school students along with industry mentors design, program, and build an industrial-sized robot to play a complex, action-packed game. We then compete at high school gym-sized fields as part of a three-team alliance against other teams. It's an incredible time to be a part of this team!
We need and value your support to achieve all that we do throughout the FIRST season and all year long.
Key near-term uses of funds:
- Parts for our robot ~ $12,000 per year
- Registration and travel for 2 local competitions this March ~$8,000
- Registration and travel for 4-day district competition in Springfield, MA this April ~ $15,000
